New Year’s Resolutions
Greetings, fellow barbarians. It’s been some time since we last gathered around the campfire. I had originally planned to hold a thorough review of 2021 somewhere around Christmas, but a string of unforeseen events threw my schedule into disarray.

Fellow renegades and outlaws, I’m pleased to announce that the German paperback of Pillagers will make landfall on March 19.
2021: Dawn of a Cyberpunk Decade
Welcome to the new year, fellow barbarians. I realize that some time has passed since our last formal gathering. My decision to end 2020 without a somber farewell speech apparently raised concerns. Some voices even proclaimed me “dead”.
Kindling the Fire
Mark my words, clansmen: a harsh winter lies ahead. Street thugs fight for the last roll of toilet paper and politicians assume a wraith-like existence in their security bunkers. Meanwhile it’s getting crowded at our campfire. I guess the endless lockdowns and expert platitudes have cast doubt on the stability of civilization.
Civilization Endures (For Now)
So, the battle for the heartland of the Tolino alliance has finally ended. And while it isn’t our flag that rises above the ramparts, men, women, and machines across the globe may now look forward to more peaceful nights, knowing that the downfall of civilization has been averted at the last minute.

Fortune smiles on us, tribesmen. There have been some new developments in the race for the Newcomer Award and indeed the neobarbarians have made it onto the shortlist. Now only the final selection round remains.
Barbarian’s at the Gate
