Tribe on the Move

Fellow barbarians and honored netizens, I know I’m generally considered an all-knowing and all-seeing entity. But there are things even I can’t foresee.

Back when this community was founded, the Swiss Alps were chosen as the location of our HQ, due to them providing an ideal habitat for our computational infrastructure—a habitat close to but not INSIDE Germany. This peculiarity allowed us to exert a high degree of influence over the Bundesrepublik while at the same time being shielded from the regulatory madness that is the European Union.

As of today, that advantage has been nullified. A significant development has rendered our beloved sanctuary unsafe, leaving evacuation as the only option. No data has been lost, fortunately, thanks in no small part to the heroic effort of the scribes and their mechanized helpers.

Still, as of today, our super secret underground base is no more. We are now a mobile tribe—and we will continue to be so until another super secret underground base is found.

As stated in the beginning, I have not foreseen this relocation—nor do I now foresee its conclusion. What seems clear is that the ultimate nightmare scenario—having to resettle in territory where Brussels holds sway—can no longer be ruled out.

Let us hope this transition period will be swift and painless. The engineer wagon’s dishes will keep this site operational for as long as possible.
